A Note from Katie
To future students:
Hello! My name is Ms. Katie. I'm glad you're thinking about music lessons with me! 🙂
I started piano lessons when I was five years old, and my grandmom was my first teacher. During my time in elementary school and middle school, I loved music class. I played clarinet in the school band and I joined chorus too (I also played piano with the middle school chorus.) Later in my life, I started voice lessons because I enjoyed singing so much. In high school and college I made music in many different ways.
I loved both instruments so much that I started learning how to teach piano and voice. I’ve been on a long musical journey since I first started lessons, and along the way I've felt excited, soothed, fulfilled, challenged, (sometimes frustrated) and truly amazed at how awesome it is to make music. I keep learning more about music every day, even while I'm also a music teacher! If you like music too, I would be glad to hear from you. Please ask your family to get in touch with me!
To the families of future students:
Hello families! Thank you for supporting your student's interest in music.
The partnerships I create with the families of my students are just as important as the student's commitment to learning. I remember my mom driving me to my piano lessons each week, and her reminders to practice all of my lesson assignments instead of only my favorites. The support that families give to music lessons is influential to your student's success and will help support your student’s musical growth.
Your investment in lessons with me + my investment of knowledge, energy, and care towards your student's musical success = a rewarding musical experience for your student.
If you are ready to support your student as they pursue lessons, please get in touch!
